Responsibilities
- Manage water treatment and remediation projects from proposal through delivery, including scope, budget, and schedule.
- Design and oversee both temporary dewatering treatment systems and permanent remedial systems for groundwater and surface water applications.
- Develop engineering drawings, specifications, cost estimates, and permit applications for treatment systems such as filtration, carbon and other media adsorption, air stripping, and chemical treatment.
- Conduct and interpret hydrogeologic and contaminant fate and transport evaluations to guide system design.
- Support pilot tests, treatability studies, and system startups.
- Provide field oversight during installation, commissioning, troubleshooting, and performance monitoring.
- Review project deliverables for QA/QC compliance and consistency with ECS standards.
- Ensure project safety and adherence to company health and safety policies.
- Prepare project invoices and assist with collections as required.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Environmental, Civil, or Chemical Engineering required; Master’s degree preferred.
- Licensed Professional Engineer (P.E.) required, or ability to obtain reciprocity.
- Minimum 7 years of relevant experience in groundwater/surface water remediation and water treatment system design.
- Demonstrated experience designing and managing water treatment or remediation systems (e.g., pump-and-treat, mechanical and media filtration, adsorption media, or chemical treatment).
- Strong understanding of hydrogeologic and chemical processes governing contaminant behavior.
- Proficiency with developing Process Flow Diagrams (PFDs) and Process and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs) within AutoCAD and other Autodesk Programs.
- Experience with hydraulic and contaminant transport modeling tools (e.g., MODFLOW, MT3D, GIS or similar).
- Ability to oversee and support field operations, including startup, sampling, and troubleshooting.
- Prominent project management skills with the ability to deliver projects on schedule and within budget.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- OSHA 40-hour HAZWOPER certification (or ability to obtain).
- Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel up to 30%.
