Reman
About the role
This full-time position involves preparing building materials from a list provided by the plant manager for shipping and affixing labels to packs of lumber.
Responsibilities
- Observe all safety requirements, including wearing Personal Protective Equipment.
- Stack lumber or other wood products.
- Maintain a clean reman area, including removing staples, cross-outs, and any other damaged material.
- Load and unload lumber and timber from conveyors.
- Measure and mark cutting lines on lumber, timber, and finished goods.
- Maintain accurate records of job operations and up-to-date inventory.
- Ensure proper disposal of waste materials upon completion of job operations.
- Sort and arrange lumber, timbers, and finished goods by sizes and grades for easy identification.
- Operate sawing equipment to make precise cuts.
- Utilize specialized equipment such as dry kilns to effectively dry lumber.
Requirements
- No prior experience or training required.
- High School diploma preferred.
