About the role

First Hawaiian Bank is seeking a collaborative, customer-focused, goals‑oriented Relief Banking Consultant to join the Maui team. The role requires reliable transportation and the ability to travel to any Hawaii branch as business needs change. Mileage is reimbursed at the IRS standard rate of $0.725 per mile.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver exceptional in‑branch customer service by proactively engaging customers to identify needs.
  • Demonstrate digital banking options.
  • Fulfill customers’ day‑to‑day transactional needs.
  • Advise customers on the full range of financial products and services suited to their financial needs.

Qualifications

  • Associate’s degree in a business‑related field, equivalent work experience; or high school diploma or equivalent and 2 years’ experience in a sales and service environment.
  • 2 years of cash handling experience.
  • 2 years of experience in customer service, referrals and sales.
  • State of Hawaii Driver’s License required.
  • Retail/branch banking experience in operations and sales or similar financial‑services experience preferred.
  • Extensive knowledge of banking/financial products and services; ability to comprehend finance and credit concepts preferred.
  • Welcoming presence when interacting with customers.
  • Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Digitally savvy, confident with digital banking technology.
  • Detail oriented with excellent follow‑through.
  • Agile and resourceful in a fast‑paced, changing environment.
  • Upbeat, positive, growth mindset, quick learner.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Ability to handle confidential matters judiciously.
  • Willing to travel to various Hawaii branches.
  • Available for the work schedule: Monday‑Friday 8:00AM‑4:30PM; Saturday on a rotation basis 8:30AM‑1:30PM.

Pay

Pay range: $23.00 – $27.00 per hour, plus sales incentives and an additional $3.00 per hour Relief Premium.

Schedule

Monday‑Friday 8:00AM‑4:30PM; Saturday on a rotation basis 8:30AM‑1:30PM.
