Relief Operator (Floater)

About the role

Provide relief for production and intake vacancies. Includes coverage for employee breaks; vacation/personal time off; and absences.

Observe all plant safety policies and procedures regarding lock out/tag out, confined space, fork lift, etc. Follow all personal hygiene and sanitary practices in accordance with federal, state and local laws, rules and regulations. Observe all Saputo Cheese USA Good Manufacturing Practices and food safety guidelines.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent required, related post-secondary training is an asset.
• 1 year of customer service experience in a manufacturing, farming or agriculture environment is preferred.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills required.
• Attention to detail data entry into ERP Software.
• Ability to work with limited supervision and prepare accurate documents.
• Ability to multitask, adapt and react to interruptions and production changes without losing composure and efficiency.
• Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
• Ability to work other shifts occasionally.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of Food Safety hygiene practices and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP).
• Ability to read, write and speak in a proficient manner and communicate effectively.
• Ability to work in manufacturing environment which includes but not limited to: noise, changing temperatures (hot, wet, cold, humid), standing/walking/bending/stooping/climbing stairs, maneuvering around manufacturing equipment consistently throughout the shift.
• Working with chemicals, wearing personal protective equipment, and following approved chemical handling procedures.
• Physical lifting up to 50-lbs frequently throughout the shift.
• Work up to 12-hours per day.
• Required to stand for entire shift except breaks.
• Ability to learn and perform all production jobs.

Salary Range - $27.18 - $27.68
