Relief Fryer Operator - Week Nights

About the role

Relief Fryer/Peeler Operator position in Hanover, PA on the new Week Night Shift (Monday to Thursday, 6 PM–6 AM). Responsibilities include trimming defects from peeled potatoes, operating the potato chip fryer in relief of the regular operator, performing sanitation procedures, changing and setting blades, preparing equipment for production, operating the peeler/slicer system, reporting quality or mechanical problems, working proactively in cross-functional teams, maintaining a safe work environment, and ensuring quality and food safety.

Responsibilities

• Inspect peeled potatoes and trim defects to control raw potato input quality.
• Operate potato chip fryer in relief of the regular operator, including start-up and shut-down preparation.
• Carry out daily and weekly sanitation procedures for the peeler or frying area.
• Change and set blades.
• Prepare peeler/slicer or frying system for production start-up.
• Operate the peeler/slicer system to maintain a sufficient supply of properly peeled and sliced raw potatoes for fryer operation.
• Report all quality or mechanical problems to the supervisor.
• Work proactively in a cross-functional team with diverse groups of people.
• Maintain a safe work environment and communicate any safety issues to the supervisor.
• Perform quality and food safety tasks for the position.
• Other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
