About The Role
We are looking for compassionate and dedicated Relief Care Assistants to join our care team, providing high-quality care and support to elderly residents within a residential care setting. Please note: This is a relief position with no guaranteed weekly hours. Work is offered on a flexible, as-required basis.
Responsibilities
- Provide personal care and support tailored to individual resident needs.
- Assist residents with mobility, nutrition, hydration, and daily living activities.
- Support residents' physical, emotional, social, and spiritual wellbeing.
- Promote residents' dignity, privacy, independence, and individual rights at all times.
- Encourage and support participation in meaningful recreational and social activities.
- Assist with dietary requirements and record food and fluid intake where required.
- Monitor residents' wellbeing and report any concerns to senior staff.
- Maintain accurate care records and documentation.
- Support residents and families during end-of-life care with sensitivity and compassion.
- Respond promptly to call bells and provide assistance as needed.
- Ensure safe use and maintenance of equipment such as hoists and wheelchairs.
- Adhere to health and safety, infection control, and safeguarding procedures at all times.
Requirements
- Genuine interest in caring for older people.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
- Willingness to attend mandatory and vocational training.
- Ability to work on your own initiative.
- Satisfactory PVG check.
- Registration with the Scottish Social Services Council (SSSC) within 3 months of employment.
- Two satisfactory references.
Qualifications
- SVQ Level II or III in Health & Social Care (or working towards this qualification) – desirable.
- Previous experience supporting older people in a care setting – desirable.

Pay
£13.55 per hour
Schedule
- Day Shift: 7:45am to 8:00pm
- Night Shift: 7:45pm to 8:00am
