About the Role

Raytheon’s Systems Engineering and Test Capabilities (SE&TC) Surface Radars & Sensors Center seeks a Principal Reliability Engineer to join the Life Cycle Engineering (LCE) team. LCE ensures products are Safe, Reliable, Maintainable, Sustainable, and delivered on time. Life Cycle Engineers participate in the total life cycle of products from conception to deactivation.

In this role, you will develop reliability and maintainability analyses and models to ensure products and systems remain highly reliable and sustainable throughout their life.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct Reliability, Availability, and Maintainability (RAM) analyses, including reliability and maintainability predictions.
  • Perform Failure Modes Effects and Criticality Analyses (FMECA) and Fault Detection/Fault Isolation (FDFI) analyses.
  • Define and allocate RAM requirements.
  • Assess RAM performance: Mean Time Between Failure (MTBF), Mean Time Between Critical Failure (MTBCF), and Operational Availability (Ao).
  • Interpret data and analyze results.
  • Perform Probability Risk Assessment.
  • Ensure performance compliance with requirements.
  • Maintain complex Reliability Block Diagrams (RBD) and system models.
  • Perform Failure Reporting Analysis and Corrective Action System (FRACAS) tasks, including trend analysis, failure investigations, and presentations to internal and external stakeholders at program meetings and Failure Review Boards (FRB).
  • Support the proposal process by developing Basis of Estimates (BOEs) for RAM work.
  • Track Earned Value (EV) and provide accurate status on schedule and budget for the RAM/FRACAS scope.
  • Domestic travel, not expected to exceed 10%.

Requirements

  • Degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 2 years of prior relevant experience.
  • Experience with Reliability, Maintainability, Failure Analysis, and/or Electrical Design.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with Reliability and FRACAS Engineering Concepts, including reliability and maintainability predictions, FMECA/FDFI, RBDs, MTBF/MTBCF, Ao, and probability risk assessment.
  • Electrical Engineering experience; Electrical Engineering degree/education preferred.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to collect, organize, analyze, and disseminate significant amounts of information with attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to present technical material to audiences.
  • Ability to work collaboratively across disciplines.
  • Strong communication, interpersonal skills, and ability to develop strong customer relationships.

Pay

The salary range for this role is 68,900 USD - 131,100 USD. The range is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including role, function, responsibilities, work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
