Duties and Responsibilities
- Be a subject matter expert in the new product development team with respect to test methods, product requirements, user needs, and reliability
- Develop critical to quality (CTQ) requirements from collaboration with product management and participation in user needs research
- Collaborate with engineering and marketing to define product specifications with respect to all aspects of reliability, quality, and user needs
- Design experimental techniques to improve development and testing efforts
- Interact with global suppliers that participate in product development
- Track multiple projects simultaneously to ensure adherence to schedule and the Milwaukee Tool process
Testing and Analysis
- Develop new test procedures and create test plans to evaluate product performance against user and product requirements
- Effectively document test plans, procedures, and best practices for execution in test laboratories
- Perform data analysis, post-processing, and visualization of test data
- Summarize test results with statistical techniques and present concise, logical, written conclusions
- Ensure timely failure reporting and drive root cause analysis and effective corrective/preventative actions (FRACA)
Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in electrical or mechanical engineering or related engineering field with 2-5 years of experience in similar product development, reliability, test, or quality roles
- Strong analytical problem-solving skills and sound statistical application in areas such as design of experiments, sampling techniques, regression, reliability, FMEAs, hypothesis testing, etc.
- Hands-on experience with data acquisition systems, data analytics, and related software (e.g. Python, nCode Glyphworks, Dewesoft, LabVIEW)
- Experience with life data analysis, reliability distributions, and statistical analysis, and related software (e.g. Minitab, Reliasoft Weibull++)
- Experience in troubleshooting, fault detection, failure analysis, and automating tests/measurements and analysis
- Strong communication skills with the ability to influence at all levels with creative problem-solving capabilities
- Ability to travel 10% (includes both domestic and international)
