What You Will Do
- Cultivate and coordinate investigations of machine failures, analyzing failure mechanisms and implementing solutions to enhance reliability.
- Collaborate with maintenance teams to pinpoint work practices and other preventive measures to avoid machine failures.
- Develop, implement, and refine preventative and predictive maintenance strategies.
- Optimize lubrication protocols, including the selection and storage of lubricants.
- Analyze plant data to pinpoint areas for improvement, reduce downtime, and enhance overall plant performance.
- Train the maintenance team to improve their skills and knowledge.
- Redesign machinery and components when necessary to boost plant reliability and minimize operating costs.
- Utilize the mill's computerized maintenance management system to oversee lubrication and other maintenance activities.
- Coordinate and execute maintenance activities effectively.
- Create and maintain robust systems aimed at enhancing plant reliability.
- Apply predictive technologies like vibration analysis, thermography, and oil analysis to bolster the mill's reliability program.
- Identify additional opportunities across the site to boost efficiency, cut costs, and minimize waste.
- Assist in special projects and perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- A Mechanical, Industrial, Electrical, or related Engineering degree, or a strong combination of relevant experience and education.
- Experience with industrial manufacturing equipment and/or trades is advantageous.
- Proven quantitative analysis skills and proficiency in working with applications developers, IT professionals, and other technical domains.
- Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, with a particular emphasis on presenting data and technical concepts to diverse audiences.
- Computer literacy in MS Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Maximo.
- Previous industry experience is preferred.
