Duties and Responsibilities
- Be a subject matter expert in the new product development team with respect to product requirements, user needs, and reliability
- Develop functional requirements from collaboration with product management and participation in user needs research as needed
- Collaborate with engineering and marketing to define product specifications with respect to all aspects of reliability, quality, and user needs
- Work with global manufacturing team to identify, quantify, and support mitigation efforts for project risks early in a project
- Interact with global suppliers that participate in product development
- Track multiple projects simultaneously to ensure adherence to schedule and the Product Development Process
- Summarize test results with statistical techniques and present concise, logical, written conclusions
- Escalate issues found to appropriate leadership levels with clear communication tailored to the intended audience
- Support projects through launch and consult with issues and findings that occur post launch
Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, or related discipline required) with 2-5 years of experience in similar product development, reliability, test, or quality roles
- Strong analytical problem-solving skills and sound statistical application in areas such as design of experiments, sampling techniques, regression, reliability, FMEAs, hypothesis testing, etc.
- Experience with life data analysis, reliability distributions, and statistical analysis, and related software (e.g. Minitab, Reliasoft Weibull++)
- Experience with manufacturing auditing and processes
- Strong communication skills with the ability to influence at all levels with creative problem-solving capabilities
- Ability to travel 10% (includes both domestic and international)
