Job Summary

BS degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering preferred, with 3+ years of experience in a heavy industrial setting, preferably in mining. The ideal candidate will have knowledge of maintenance and reliability best practices, including preventive, predictive, and precision maintenance, as well as experience implementing reliability best practices and transforming a reactive work environment into a proactive work culture.

Essential Functions

Manage risk for strategic objectives in the areas of environmental, health, safety, asset capability, quality, and production. Ensure reliability and maintainability of equipment, processes, utilities, facilities, controls, and safety/security systems. Develop and refine the asset management plan, including value-added preventive maintenance tasks and predictive maintenance methodologies.

Job Responsibilities

  • Manage a Failure Reporting, Analysis, and Corrective Action System (FRACAS) process
  • Manage preventive and predictive maintenance programs, including PM Optimization reviews and criticality assessments
  • Manage the lubrication process to improve OEE of critical assets
  • Develop action plans for cleaning up machine lubrication on crushers, screeners, mobile equipment, etc.
  • Manage lubrication sampling programs and develop plans for out-of-spec asset lubrication
  • Manage machine lubrication technician position and audit performance of program
  • Develop yearly and 5-year workforce development plans
  • Maintain and track key performance indicators (KPIs) for the department
  • Audit maintenance practices and implement changes to improve performance
  • Develop, maintain, and document workflows for maintenance processes

Working Conditions

Work entails direct supervision of Maintenance Projects and Personnel. Maintenance work is performed in enclosed facilities and outdoor areas with extremes of heat, cold, dust, noise, wet conditions, and rough terrain. Approximately 30% of the work is administrative in nature.
