Duties and Responsibilities
- Utilize engineering skills to contribute to the development and qualification of power tool products.
- Define the test methods and product requirements needed to develop durable, disruptive, and market-leading products.
- Collaborate with Engineering and Marketing to define product specifications with respect to all aspects of reliability, quality, and user needs.
- Design experimental techniques to improve development and testing efforts.
- Interact with global suppliers that participate in product development.
- Track multiple projects simultaneously to ensure adherence to schedule and the Milwaukee Tool process.
Testing and Analysis
- Develop new test procedures and create test plans to evaluate product performance against user and product requirements.
- Effectively document test plans, procedures, and best practices for execution in test laboratories.
- Perform data analysis, post-processing, and visualization of test data.
- Summarize test results with statistical techniques and present concise, logical, written conclusions.
- Ensure timely failure reporting and drive root cause analysis and effective corrective/preventative actions (FRACA).
Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering or related engineering field, preferably with 0-2 years of experience in similar product development, reliability, test, or quality roles.
- Strong analytical problem-solving skills and sound statistical application in areas such as Design of Experiments, sampling techniques, regression, reliability, FMEAs, hypothesis testing, etc.
- Hands-on experience with data acquisition systems, data analytics, and related software (e.g. Python, nCode Glyphworks, Dewesoft, LabVIEW).
- Experience with life data analysis, reliability distributions, and statistical analysis, and related software (e.g. Minitab, Reliasoft Weibull++).
- Experience in troubleshooting, fault detection, failure analysis, and automating tests/measurements and analysis.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to influence at all levels with creative problem-solving capabilities.
- Ability to travel 10% (includes both domestic and international).
