About the role

The Defense Systems Sector, at Leidos, is seeking a talented RAM (Reliability, Availability, Maintainability) Engineer to join a diverse team to create unique solutions for complex problems. This position offers the opportunity to work on large programs associated with the DoD, DARPA, NASA, and commercial applications.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct RAM related analyses such as MTTR, MTBF, FMEA, RBD, power dissipation, and derating.
  • Develop and drive structured plans to complete complex technical tasks with minimal supervision.
  • Present complex design concepts and review materials to large groups, including executive leadership and customer representatives.
  • Support the development of reliability artifacts throughout the system’s life cycle, including reliability prediction, reliability block diagrams (RBD), reliability reports, statistics, FMEA/FMECA, FRACAS, and more.
  • May serve as a Subject Matter Expert and may be experienced with using the Reliasoft tool.
  • May present reliability engineering artifacts to the customer in formal design reviews and serve as a customer liaison in many of their programs.

Requirements

  • Must possess a Bachelor's degree in Systems Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Software Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical/engineering discipline from an ABET-accredited university, along with 8 years of relevant experience, or a Master's degree with 6 years of relevant experience.
  • Experience conducting RAM related analyses such as MTTR, MTBF, FMEA, RBD, power dissipation, and derating.
  • Demonstrated ability to take on complex or ambiguous technical tasks, develop a structured plan of action, and drive it to completion with minimal supervision.
  • Proven ability to effectively present complex design concepts and review materials to large groups, including executive leadership and customer representatives.
  • Professional experience in deriving (RAM) requirements for complex electrical, electro-mechanical, mechanical, and software systems.
  • Experience supporting NASA, DoD, or DARPA programs.
  • Resident of the North Alabama area or willing to relocate to the Huntsville - North Alabama, AL area.
  • Possess a secret clearance or have the ability to obtain a secret clearance.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with programming or scripting languages (e.g., VBA, Python, MATLAB, or R) to automate RAM analyses and support data-driven decision making.
  • Experience with Reliasoft and/or other reliability analysis tools, such as Relyence.
  • Experience with LTSpice or other electronic circuit simulator software.
  • Experience in working with SysML to develop Model-Based Systems Engineering diagrams.
  • Certified Reliability Engineer (CRE) and/or INCOSE CSEP certification preferred.
  • A detailed understanding of the top-down systems engineering process for architecture development and bottoms-up verification.
  • Experience in supporting Environmental Stress Screening (ESS) and Highly Accelerated Life Testing (HALT).
  • Experience performing risk management, test planning, and proposal development.
  • Experience shaping and executing business development efforts.
  • A thorough understanding of the DoD acquisition processes and methods.
  • A Master's Degree in Systems Engineering, Software Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering or equivalent technical/engineering degree from an ABET-accredited university.

Pay

The pay range for this job level is $107,900.00 - $195,050.00. More details are available at www.leidos.com/careers/pay-benefits.
