WHY DO WE NEED YOU? The Role This position will help bolster plant operations relative to engineering needs. The incumbent will receive instructions on task specifications and design constraints, as well as technical direction during assignments. They will be responsible for planning the details, sequence, and priority of tasks to meet established time targets of which progress and results will be periodically reviewed. Long term, mid-term and daily planning are a key aspect of the position responsibilities. Projects are typically significant assignments of broader programs involving existing products or processes. Projects may involve annual objectives and a team effort. This person may provide technical direction to non-exempt personnel or line supervisors and operators but does not have regular supervisory responsibility. The position requires technical skills and knowledge of the process as well as strong capabilities in areas of planning, scheduling, organizing, follow up and cost control. Troubleshoot and make improvements of operations, efficiency, and safetyAnalyze data to identify and prioritize opportunities for improvementDevelop new or modify existing equipment, machines, or processes to improve product quality, service reliability, reduce costs or increase capacityPerform calculations and cost estimates of mechanical systemsPlan project work through team coordination meeting and schedulingConsult with manufacturing operations, engineers and maintenance personnel on projects, problems, and techniques to resolve critical situations expeditiously and achieve production goalsUpdate and maintain current documentation of specifications, drawings, and safety proceduresKnowledgeable in the effective use of Six Sigma principles, tools, and methodsDefine the problems of requesting department and translate them into engineering solutions through innovation and advanced engineering approaches to respond in and efficient and timely manner to production meds and requirementsApply WCM tools to projects and processes to improve quality, reduce defects and thereby improving costsReport all EH&S incidents - Injuries/Recordables, Near Misses, First Aid, Environmental and Property/Equipment DamageEnsure adherence to Waste Management and Recycling responsibilitieParticipate in Incident & Near Miss Investigations to determine root cause and corrective actions IS THIS JOB FOR YOU? Requirements Bachelor's degree in engineering, required2+ years of engineering experience in a manufacturing setting, preferredExperience with identifying root cause and failure analysisAbility to develop and implement improvement projects towards improve process and or equipmentProven ability in problem analysis and resolutionMust have good "interpersonal skills" to work effectively with personnel throughout all levels of the organizationExcellent communication skills, both verbal and writtenAdvanced computer skills with emphasis in Microsoft Office ProgramsSix Sigma experience and working knowledge is a plusExperience with 2D AutoCAD TO MAKE SURE NOTHING IS FORGOTTEN Certain states require pay information to be provided in job postings. The national pay range for this position is $81,500-$126,500 per year; however, the base pay offered may vary depending on geographic region, internal equity, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience, among other In addition to base salary, this position is eligible for an annual bonus. The targeted bonus amount is 10% of base salary based on company and individual performance measures. The total target cash range (base pay and annual bonus) for this position is $89,650 to $139,150.
