About the role

The Role: A Relationship Specialist at VyStar Credit Union provides exceptional member experiences, identifies member needs, and grows relationships through effective communication and cross-selling of financial solutions. This position requires a high level of customer service, sales skills, and the ability to educate members about VyStar Credit Union's offerings.

Responsibilities

  • Provide unbelievable member experiences during in-person and phone interactions.
  • Identify member cues and ask open-ended discovery questions to build relationships.
  • Position and sell consumer and business deposit, credit, insurance, and investment solutions.
  • Handle personal and business account transactions, open accounts, and process loan applications.
  • Explain basic credit and savings options and refer more complex products.
  • Offer additional services such as notary, wire transfers, and fraud claims.
  • Support and participate in Credit Union initiatives and campaigns.
  • Exercise sound judgment and remain compliant with limits and guidelines.
  • Work independently to accomplish tasks and exhibit a positive attitude.
  • Resolve member problems independently and seek to find ways to a "yes."
  • Lead by example through community service and adhere to VyStar's Standards of Excellence.
  • Utilize excellent verbal and written communication skills and engage proactively with members.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • High school diploma/GED required, associate’s degree preferred.
  • Previous experience in sales and/or customer service, community service, military service, asking questions, offering recommendations, and making referrals, preferably with a financial institution.
  • Excellent listening and communication skills.
  • Proficiency in using the Internet and Microsoft Office.
  • A professional appearance and attitude.
  • Ability to handle many tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong critical thinking and decision-making abilities.
  • A genuine passion for sales.

Qualifications

  • Education: High school diploma/GED required, associate’s degree preferred.
  • Experience: Previous experience in a sales and/or customer service position, community service, military service, asking questions, offering recommendations, and making referrals, preferably with a financial institution.
  • Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: Ability to process accurate transactions, excellent listening and verbal communications skills, proficiency in the use of the Internet and Microsoft Office, outgoing personality, strong critical thinking and decision-making abilities, strong communication skills, and a genuine passion for sales.

Pay

Competitive pay is offered, with specific details varying based on experience and qualifications.

Schedule

Part time positions start at a minimum of 30 hours per week.
