Position Summary

The Relationship Banker II combines expertise in customer service, sales, and operational management at an elevated skill level within the banking team. The role emphasizes providing comprehensive financial services to customers and handling more complex transactions.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Customer Service & Relationship Management

    • Greet and engage customers in a friendly and professional manner.
    • Develop and maintain strong customer relationships through personalized service and proactive outreach.
    • Assist with both routine and complex banking needs.
    • Provide guidance to customers on financial products and services that best meet their needs.
  • Sales & Cross-Selling

    • Identify and promote all bank products and services.
    • Engage with customers to assess needs and recommend suitable banking solutions.
    • Seek opportunities to refer customers to other lines of business such as mortgage, wealth, treasury, commercial, etc.
  • Account Management and Support

    • Open and manage personal and business accounts ensuring accuracy and compliance.
    • Assist with account maintenance tasks, such as updating personal information, assisting with transfers, and processing check orders.
    • Support customers with online and mobile banking services.
  • Loan & Credit Processing

    • Process and assist with customer loan applications, including personal loans and home equity lines of credit.
    • Conduct initial loan screenings and gather necessary documentation.
    • Work closely with loan officers or other departments to ensure a smooth loan approval process.
    • Educate customers on loan products, eligibility requirements, and loan terms.
  • Transactions & Cash Handling

    • Process transactions with a high degree of accuracy.
    • Balance cash drawer and ensure transactions are accurately recorded and processed.
  • Compliance & Risk Management

    • Ensure compliance with all bank policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
    • Monitor and detect suspicious or potentially fraudulent activity.
    • Educate customers on loan products, eligibility requirements, and loan terms.
  • Team Support and Mentorship

    • Assist newer staff by providing guidance on bank products, customer service skills, and operational procedures.
    • Foster a collaborative and positive work environment by sharing knowledge and assisting with day-to-day operational needs.
  • Branch Operations & Administrative Support

    • Aid with daily branch operational tasks, including balancing cash, managing branch supplies, and supporting the opening and closing of the branch.
    • Support branch leadership in maintaining branch security and ensuring operational efficiency.

    Education & Experience

    • Knowledge

      • Strong sales and customer service skills.
      • Strong oral and written communication skills.
      • Basic math and accounting functions.
      • The basic tenets of lending and assessing a customer’s financial needs.
    • Ability

      • To accurately count money.
      • To stand for extended periods of time.
      • To lift 50 pounds.
      • To explain products and services to current and potential customers.
    • Education

      • A High School diploma.
      • 2 years of banking experience with lending responsibilities required.
      • 1 year of previous training and/or combination of mentorship, military or management experience required.
    • Training

      • Maintain current registration with NMLS.
      • Knowledge of Microsoft Office.

      • Compensation

        • May be eligible for bonus or incentives based on company and individual performance.
        • (Base Pay Range: $21.50-$24.00/hour).
