Relationship Associate - Corporate Banking
Senior-level position responsible for assisting clients in raising funds in the capital markets and providing strategic advisory services for mergers, acquisitions, and other financial transactions in coordination with the Institutional Banking team. The Relationship Associate also serves as an intermediary in trading for clients, acting as a strategic advisor by formulating investment strategies and raising capital.
Responsibilities
- Build relationships with internal and external audiences to ensure timely problem resolution and support for a range of needs and services.
- Perform financial and operational investigations, including credit, foreign exchange, cash management, and trade services, ensuring timely resolution and client satisfaction.
- Assist Banker with the preparation of relationship reviews and client portfolios.
- Partner with Product Partners and Relationship Managers to perform Know Your Client (KYC) activities, including origination, monitoring, renewals, and completion across all product and marketing levels.
- Facilitate credit originations, credit allocation, approvals, documentation, bookings, fee collections, and renewals for Standby Letters of Credit; justify exceptions and credit allocation from Parent Account Management teams and Credit Risk Management.
- Identify revenue opportunities, position products with clients, and monitor billing and service queries; correct mapping/marketing hierarchies in Citi Investment Strategies (CIS) to ensure revenues are appropriately reflected.
- Represent the banking coverage team in client meetings.
- Assist with Banker activities in their absence, including decision-making and closing transactions as needed.
- Appropriately assess risk when making business decisions, demonstrating consideration for the firm’s reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients, and assets by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules, and regulations.
Requirements
- 6-10 years of experience.
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance or closely related areas of Business Administration.
- Credit skills/experience (e.g., financial accounting, commercial lending theories, industry awareness, loan structuring) preferred.
- Comprehensive knowledge of Support, Credit & Legal documentation requirements (e.g., Letters of Comfort, parent guarantees, LCs and their agreements, ISDA/CSA, Short Term Loan agreements, Cards Agreements).
- Comprehensive knowledge of the client’s treasury model and philosophy (funding model, cash management strategy, decision-making, subsidiary support policy, wallet sharing, bank group composition).
- Client-focused and results-oriented with strong follow-up and organizational skills.
- Clear and concise written and verbal communication.
- Proven planning, negotiation, and analytical skills.
- Professional attitude.
Master’s degree preferred. Financial Services background highly preferred. Experience within the Energy industry is a plus.
Pay
$114,720.00 - $172,080.00. In addition to salary, Citi’s offerings may include discretionary and formulaic incentive and retention awards for eligible employees.
