Reimbursement Specialist - Patient Collections

Responsibilities
- Provide expertise claims support by reviewing, researching, investigating, negotiating and resolving all types of claims as well as recovery and resolution for health plans, commercial customers and government entities
- Handle inbound and outbound calls, from patients and payors, regarding claims and/or account balances
- Prepare and review insurance claims prior to billing
- Analyze and identify trends and provide reports as necessary
- Ensure adherence to state and federal compliance policies, reimbursement policies and contract compliance
- Other duties as assigned
Requirements
- High School Diploma / GED OR 2+ years of equivalent working experience
- Must be 18 years of age OR older
- 2+ years of experience in claims recovery and resolution
- 2+ years of medical billing and/or medical collections experience
- Moderate proficiency with computer and Windows PC applications, which includes the ability to learn new and complex computer system applications
- Ability to work full-time (40 hours / week) Monday - Friday. Employees are required to have flexibility to work any of our 8-hour shift schedule during our normal business hours of 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM CST. It may be necessary, given the business need, to work occasional overtime
Qualifications
- Ability to navigate through several technical platforms simultaneously
- Adobe PDF experience
- Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Outlook, Microsoft Word proficiency
Preferred Qualifications
- 2+ years of experience in infusion therapy or related healthcare services
- Telecommuting Requirements: Ability to keep all company sensitive documents secure (if applicable)
- Must live in a location that can receive a UnitedHealth Group approved high-speed internet connection or leverage an existing high-speed internet service
- All employees working remotely will be required to adhere to UnitedHealth Group's Telecommuter Policy

Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, we offer benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements).
