About the Role

Works with the Nursing Manager/Supervisor to ensure accurate patient tracking and data entry. Responsible for interpreting, entering, and auditing appropriate nursing charges using the SHS computer program. Performs additional duties as appropriate.

Department Description

Ambulatory Infusion staff are knowledgeable in the care of patients with cancer, autoimmune diseases, infections, and more. We provide expert care to patients and all of their infusion needs.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • One (1) year of relevant patient care experience (CNA, Certified Medical Assistant, or technician) or medical office/unit clerk experience including medication coding required.
  • Experience or training in medical terminology, health care delivery systems, and reimbursement systems required.
  • Previous hospital experience preferred.

  • Communication: Effective written and oral communication skills to explain complex issues, exchange information between team members, and tactfully discuss issues.
  • Customer Service: Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer service, including customer needs assessment, meeting quality standards for services, and evaluation of customer satisfaction.
  • Social Perceptiveness: Ability to work with a diverse population from pediatrics to geriatrics. Basic understanding of age-related differences in caring for and/or communicating with patients and caregivers. Possess personal sensitivity to the needs and experiences of others and a non-judgmental attitude towards persons of differing standards, values, lifestyles, and ages.
  • Computer Literacy: Knowledge of electronic equipment, computer hardware, and software. Ability to operate applications, enter data, and manipulate and process information. Proficiency in computer applications, including word processing, spreadsheets, databases, and information systems.

  • Frequently (34 - 66% of the time): Sit, climb stairs, squat repetitive, rotate trunk sitting, pull (0 - 20 lbs force), walk (level surface), reach upward, manual dexterity (hands/wrists), finger dexterity, pinch (fingers).
  • Continually (67 - 100% of the time): Stand, reach forward, grasp (hand/fist), carry 2-handed (0 - 20 lbs), carry 2-handed (20 - 40 lbs), lift (floor to waist: 60+ lbs), push (0 - 20 lbs force).
