Rehabilitation Technician

Essential Functions

  • Assists therapists in preparation for therapy appointments by transporting necessary equipment to treatment room as directed
  • Affixes patient phone calls, faxes, emails, schedules, communicates with vendors or performs other tasks as needed
  • Creates patient therapeutic materials for onsite therapies or home sessions, per clinician recommendations
  • Maintains cleanliness, organization, and supply inventory of treatment rooms and storage areas
  • Processes broken assistive devices or equipment and sends items for repair; completes claims for lost or damaged devices; processes return for credits
  • Assumes responsibility for maintaining a clean and safe environment of care in the Rehab Department treatment areas as assigned
  • Provides video and photography services, as assigned by therapists, during patient assessments and treatments
  • Performs basic adjustments, modifications and repairs to mechanical therapy equipment, ambulation aids and adaptive equipment
  • Performs other duties as required and assigned

Qualifications

  • Education: High School diploma or general education degree (GED) required
  • Experience: At least one year in related field and/or experience in a healthcare environment preferred
  • Licenses and Certificates: BLS certification required
  • Fingerprints: Employees are required to maintain a current Arizona Department of Public Safety Level 1 Fingerprint Clearance Card
  • Age of Patients Attended: Check All That Apply

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Knowledge: Basic trouble-shooting techniques for patient equipment
  • Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and relevant software skills
  • Knowledge: Knowledge of basic trouble-shooting techniques for patient equipment
  • Skills: Skill in performing car seat evaluation/fitting and installation (CPS certified) if applicable
  • Skills: Skill in the removal and applications of casts if applicable
  • Abilities: Ability to maintain confidentiality of patient, personnel, and corporate data
  • Abilities: Ability to effectively manage time with a proven ability to meet deadlines; organization and attention to detail
  • Abilities: Ability to provide support services to clinical providers during the examination, treatment, social and/or vocational development of the pediatric patient
  • Abilities: Ability to prioritize and execute tasks in a high-volume and fast-paced environment
  • Abilities: Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing with patients, their families, clinic staff and community members
  • Abilities: Ability to operate personal computer and related office equipment as needed to perform job function
