Rehabilitation Specialist, Residential

About the role

Residential Rehabilitation Program (RRP) services support individuals with serious mental illness who have difficulty maintaining housing. The team assists clients with housing, employment, mental health services, and more, providing a safe and therapeutic environment that encourages independence and well‑being.

Schedule

Part‑time, 16 hours/week, every Saturday and Sunday 4 pm – 12 am. In‑person in Gaithersburg, MD.

Responsibilities

• Act as a residential counselor, working one‑on‑one with clients to learn or regain skills for successful community and independent living and socialization.
• Ensure medication compliance, including safety, dosage, and cleanliness.
• Collaborate with a service team to develop and implement individual service plans.
• Provide transportation and attend clients’ medical appointments, offering advocacy and documenting follow‑up instructions.
• Build rapport with clients, serving as a trusted support system and encouraging progress in recovery.
• Participate in thorough training and receive mentorship from senior staff while performing direct‑care duties.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED (required).
• Bachelor’s degree in a related field (preferred).
• Willingness to obtain additional certifications and trainings as required.
• Valid driver’s license with three points or less and access to an insured vehicle.
• Availability to work days, nights, weekends, and holidays as needed by the program.

Pay

$19.31 per hour.
