Rehabilitation Specialist

About the role

The Rehabilitation Specialist provides rehabilitation services to members receiving Adult SMI services, focusing on employment, psychosocial rehabilitation, and educational goals.

Responsibilities

• Manages a flexible caseload, including a mix of employment-related rehabilitation and psychosocial rehabilitation.
• Tracks detailed information on all employment-related engagement and caseload.
• Utilizes psychiatric rehabilitation best practices to assess participants' needs and emphasize a philosophy of assisting individuals in reaching their desired outcomes.
• Edits and assists participants in identifying the resources needed to obtain and maintain employment, including groups and workshops.
• Utilizes available tools to screen and assess participants for employment and psychosocial rehabilitation opportunities.
• Collaborates with the Clinical Manager in identifying participants for the employment and psychosocial caseloads.
• Mentors new Rehabilitation Specialist staff, as needed.
• Inquires about the client’s health & wellness needs and assists in coordinating those primary care or other supportive services with appropriate JFCS staff or external parties.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in behavioral-health field preferred; a combination of experience and education may be considered.
• Two (2) years’ work experience in behavioral health, preferably providing vocational and/or rehabilitation services to adults diagnosed with a serious mental illness.
• Understanding and application of best practices in psychiatric rehabilitation, particularly around employment.
• Valid AZ Driver’s License.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, etc.).
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Knowledge of psychiatric conditions.
• Sound judgment and time management skills.
