Essential Functions
- Communicating with patients and scheduling patient appointments as well as confirming future appointments and phone confirmation of next day evals.
- Communicate visit cost to patients and explain as needed patient benefits.
- Collect patient payments and pull visit totals and batch collections at end of the day.
- Communicating with rehabilitation staff and therapist as needed to clarify referral requests and scheduling needs.
- Collect and verify patient demographics and insurance information and pull in-take packets for following day.
- Scan documents into EMR as needed.
- Aids Rehabilitation Front Office Supervisor in special projects.
- Answer incoming Rehabilitation Department phone calls and check faxes.
- Aid in maintaining goals for quality patient care, patient satisfaction, and treatment compliance through service to patient needs and request in the capacity of the position.
- Manage patient cancelations per department protocol including scheduling from wait list.
- Create new patient charts.
- Confirm DME proof of delivery and ABN documents.
- Schedule progress notes due.
- Maintains patient confidentiality.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Bachelor’s degree preferred.
- One year of experience in out-patient rehabilitation preferred.
- Knowledge of computer systems and EMR software.
- Knowledge of phone systems.
- Knowledge of rehabilitation terminology and insurance/payor rules and regulations.
- Knowledge of referral processes and patient eligibility.

- Manual dexterity using a calculator and computer keyboard.
- Ability to lift 25 lbs.
- Occasional kneeling, squatting, and overhead lifting.
