Rehabilitation Aide (Full-Time)

Responsibilities
- Prepares and cleans whirlpools and attends to patients while in the whirlpool.
- Assists patients in donning and doffing prosthetic or orthotic devices.
- Assists patients in dressing and undressing in preparation for treatment.
- Assists the therapist in setting up patients on all therapeutic equipment.
- Maintains linen and other supplies at all times at the disposal of the professional staff.
- Prepares hot and cold packs for use by the therapists.
- Adjusts non-modality equipment for patient use.
- Assists therapists in gait training of patients and is able to provide support to patients while ambulating, safely lower patients to the floor in case of a total loss of balance.
- Performs daily whirlpool scheduling and completes the daily assignment sheet.
- Identifies the needs of the patient population served and modifies and delivers care that is specific to those needs (i.e., age, culture, language, hearing, and/or visually impaired, etc.). This process includes communicating with the patient, parent, and/or primary caregiver(s) at their level (developmental/age, educational, literacy, etc.).
- Adheres to the standards identified in the Medical Center's Organizational Competencies.
- Other duties and/or projects as assigned.
- Adheres to HMH Organizational competencies and standards of behavior.
- Lifts a minimum of 50 lbs., pushes and pulls a minimum of 100 lbs., and stands a minimum of 6 hours a day.
Qualifications
Education, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:
- High School diploma, general equivalency diploma (GED), and/or GED equivalent programs.
- Demonstrated ability to communicate with a diverse patient population.
- Demonstrated ability to work as a member of the interdisciplinary team.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficient computer skills that include but are not limited to Google Suite and/or Microsoft Office platforms.
Education, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Preferred:
- Minimum of 1 year patient care experience.
Licenses and Certifications Required:
- BLS AHA Basic Health Care Life Support HCP Certification.
Pay
Minimum rate of $18.57 hourly. The starting rate of pay is provided for informational purposes only and is not a guarantee of a specific offer. Posted hourly rates may be stated as an annual salary in the offer and posted annual salaries may be stated as an hourly rate in the offer, depending on the level and nature of the job duties and credentials of the candidate. The base compensation determined at the time of the offer may be different than the posted rate of pay based on labor market data, experience, education and certifications, skills, geographic location, internal equity, and budget or grant funding.
