Responsibilities

  • Performs scheduling functions in a high-volume, fully computerized environment
  • Acts as a professional liaison for staff, other hospital personnel, medical staff, and physicians' offices
  • Requires general knowledge of radiological procedures, exam preparations, exam sequencing, and other related functions
  • Additional skills required include typing, strong customer service, and problem-solving

Requirements

  • Demonstrated knowledge of medical terminology
  • Three (3) years of previous medical-related clerical experience or an associate's degree
  • Demonstrated organizational and communication/customer service skills
  • Demonstrated knowledge and skill in the utilization of computer applications
  • Demonstrated problem-solving skills

Qualifications

  • Previous experience in a hospital/medical office scheduling environment (preferred)
  • Demonstrated knowledge and skill in the use of a computerized scheduling system (preferred)
  • Associate Degree (preferred)
  • Prior experience in insurance precertification (preferred)
  • Experience interfacing with physician offices, other organization departments, and third-party payers (preferred)
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate with individuals at all levels of responsibility (preferred)
  • Ability to work independently (preferred)
  • Ability to type 40 words per minute (preferred)
