Responsibilities
- Performs scheduling functions in a high-volume, fully computerized environment
- Acts as a professional liaison for staff, other hospital personnel, medical staff, and physicians' offices
- Requires general knowledge of radiological procedures, exam preparations, exam sequencing, and other related functions
- Additional skills required include typing, strong customer service, and problem-solving
Requirements
- Demonstrated knowledge of medical terminology
- Three (3) years of previous medical-related clerical experience or an associate's degree
- Demonstrated organizational and communication/customer service skills
- Demonstrated knowledge and skill in the utilization of computer applications
- Demonstrated problem-solving skills
Qualifications
- Previous experience in a hospital/medical office scheduling environment (preferred)
- Demonstrated knowledge and skill in the use of a computerized scheduling system (preferred)
- Associate Degree (preferred)
- Prior experience in insurance precertification (preferred)
- Experience interfacing with physician offices, other organization departments, and third-party payers (preferred)
- Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate with individuals at all levels of responsibility (preferred)
- Ability to work independently (preferred)
- Ability to type 40 words per minute (preferred)
