Rehab Associate (Inpatient) - Full Time
About the Role
As a Rehabilitation Associate at Hackensack Meridian Health, you will assist in patient care activities and perform routine department clerical tasks. Responsibilities
- Charting: Complete copying, filing, charting, and mail tasks as per the task list.
- Clerical Support: Provide phone support, relay messages, answer phones within 3 rings courteously, and offer clerical assistance such as making copies, filing, sorting mail, and scheduling residents.
- Committee Representative: Participate on committees as requested by the supervisor.
- Customer Service: Deliver the highest level of service to all residents, families, and visitors.
- Delivery of Care: Model and maintain a safe environment, employing correct body mechanics. Assist in performing activities of daily living for all patients safely, courteously, and timely.
- Equipment Cleaning: Clean and disinfect equipment as per department policy.
- Equipment Inventory: Maintain all supplies and equipment, track inventory, order supplies, and ensure the work area is neat and clean.
- Exercise and Ambulation: Monitor patients with established exercise programs and ambulate patients safely under professional supervision.
- Infection Control: Maintain an orderly, clean, and well-prepared department. Distribute linen and supplies, handle laundry, and perform cleaning and maintenance of equipment.
- Patient Scheduling: Perform patient scheduling efficiently and ensure patients flow into treatment areas in an orderly and timely manner.
- Patient/Team Member Rapport: Develop rapport and mutual respect with patients and team members to foster an optimal environment for goal achievement.
- Phone Support: Answer phones within three rings courteously and take accurate, complete messages.
- Resident Transport: Transport residents to appropriate treatment areas in an orderly and timely fashion. Notify supervisors of unsafe conditions and handle emergencies appropriately.
- Refer patient questions/concerns to the appropriate therapist.
- Provide therapy assistance in a safe environment using proper body mechanics.
- Notify appropriate team members of supply and equipment needs promptly.
- Assist therapists to ensure department efficiency, especially during high patient volume.
- Prepare and clean whirlpools according to established departmental policies.
- Perform other duties and/or projects as assigned.
- Adhere to HMH organizational competencies and standards of behavior.
Requirements
- High School diploma, general equivalency diploma (GED), and/or GED equivalent programs.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficient computer skills, including but not limited to Microsoft Office and/or Google Suite platforms.
Qualifications
AHA Basic Health Care Life Support HCP Certification is preferred.
Pay
Minimum starting rate of $17.64 per hour. The posted rate of pay is a reasonable good faith estimate of the minimum base pay for this role and may vary based on factors such as labor market data, experience, education, certifications, skills, geographic location, internal equity, budget, and grant funding.
