Rehab Assistant Part Time
Position Overview
Western State Hospital is seeking a part time/wage Rehab Assistant to assist in the development of and implementation of therapeutic interventions within the psychosocial treatment program and provide open leisure programming available to all patients of Western State Hospital and provide on-unit programming on admissions units.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct 6-10 hours of psychosocial rehabilitation interventions per week, according to approved schedules
- Responsible for planning, organizing, implementing, and evaluating programs for weekend activities on admission PCUs
- Ensures that interventions are appropriate to individual clients' ages, interests, and abilities as reflected by assessment data
- Demonstrates competency as psychosocial rehab facilitator by obtaining passing score on staff competency summary
- Prepares materials for intervention prior to facilitation and stores materials after completion of intervention
- Completes all mandated trainings by deadlines
- Make arrangements for coverage with other part time and P-14 staff when unable to work assigned schedule
Minimum Qualifications
- No previous experience required
- Valid Virginia Driver's License
Additional Considerations
- High school diploma or equivalent
- College courses in recreation, occupational therapy, psychology or related fields
- Bilingual
- Veteran or Veteran Spouse
