Rehab Aide (Per Diem) Jefferson Moss-Magee, Riverfront
About the role
The Rehabilitation Aide helps prepare patients and the environment for treatments and assists therapists in performing treatment under therapist’s supervision, in groups or individual setting. The rehabilitation aide works in acute care, acute rehab, skilled facility, outpatient settings as appropriate.
Responsibilities
- Interacts with co-workers, visitors, and other staff consistent with the values of Jefferson.
- Performs patient care under direct supervision of a licensed therapy professional.
- Provides assistance according to departmental policies and procedures and applicable state practice guidelines.
- Transports patients to treatment area with timely arrival for therapy appointment.
- Affirms that equipment and treatment areas remain clean, properly stored and ready for use according to hospital and departmental policies and procedures.
- Performs clerical duties as directed by staff and supervisors in a timely manner to insure smooth daily operations of the department.
- Supervises exercise programs, leads group exercises, documents appropriately (attendance, fees paid), and demonstrates knowledge of the specific needs relative to the safety of the participant.
- Demonstrates familiarity with basic computer skills such as scheduling, transporter lists, billing and ability to set up new patient/administer survey.
- Communicates impressions and objective information in a clear and timely manner to therapists, supervisors, and others as directed to insure efficient coordination and optimal outcomes.
Requirements
- High School diploma required.
- Experience: 0-2 years of experience, 1 year preferred.
- CPR certification required.
Qualifications
- Education: High School diploma required.
Skills
- Basic computer skills (scheduling, transporter lists, billing).
- Familiarity with exercise programs and group exercises.
- Knowledge of patient safety.
- Clear communication skills.
