About the role

The Technical Pricing Certification team is part of the Global Pricing team at Allianz Commercial. The team is responsible for defining and delivering on Allianz Commercial’s strategic vision to be a technically excellent pricing team, with building a robust rate filing framework forming a key pillar.

Responsibilities

  • Use your actuarial experience, knowledge of external market forces, and awareness of industry trends to assist management with developing business strategies and solving complex business problems.
  • Consult with line of business experts to develop rates, rules, rating plans, actuarial support, and regulatory filing strategies for new and existing commercial products.
  • Complete required actuarial memoranda and exhibits for insurance department rate filings, respond to insurance department inquiries and objections to achieve successful outcomes, and assist with the preparation of regulatory data call submissions.
  • Keep abreast of leading market practices and drive innovation.
  • Promote close collaboration and interaction with various business areas to foster mutual understanding of how business developments impact actuarial drivers in the financials.
  • Manage and drive forward own area of responsibility or project.
  • Develop global actuarial pricing approaches and processes to rate filings, enhance actuarial models and analyses for rate filing purposes, and prepare and perform Actuarial rate filing analysis for assigned business area, including documentation, communication, and explanation of results.
  • Peer review work from other team members, mentor, and provide guidance to junior team members.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree (ideally Master’s) preferably in Mathematics, Statistics or other appropriate discipline or qualified by experience in related discipline.
  • Accredited member of the Casualty Actuarial Society in good standing or are in progress toward accreditation.
  • 3 years of actuarial pricing experience in the US, including at least 3 years of experience with standard commercial lines rate filings in states with complex actuarial and regulatory requirements.

Qualifications

  • Excellent project management skills, including ability to maintain progress on multiple projects.
  • Extensive computer skills (e.g., MS Office including VBA and relevant expert systems such as Matlab, R, SQL, Java, etc.).
  • Ability to identify patterns and root causes in complex data and processes to rapidly distill key issues and provide insight in various situations, anticipating and resolving issues before they transpire.
  • Ability to identify and initiate appropriate actions to remediate issues that can be abstract and follow through on their remediation.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, with an ability to understand and convey information clearly and effectively with respect to the audience/level of management.
  • Experience in applying artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning (ML) to improve business processes and decision-making is highly beneficial.
  • Ability to persuade and motivate others without direct authority.

Pay

$130,000 – $170,000 annually.

Schedule

Hybrid working model, combining in-person collaboration and remote working.
