About Your Team and Role Our Protective Equipment function defines and develops respiratory protection that performs under the conditions of a severe biological crisis, and works to ensure that equipment can be certified, produced, stockpiled, and distributed at the scale such a crisis would demand. Delivering that capability depends as much on the standards, certification pathways, and policy frameworks governing protective equipment as it does on the equipment itself. This role leads our engagement with the standards bodies, certification authorities, professional associations, and policymakers who shape those frameworks. You will set our strategy for standards and guidance development in respiratory protection and pandemic preparedness, represent us in the committees where that work is done, and coordinate the participation of colleagues across the organization whose technical input it requires. What You Will Own Regulatory intelligence: monitoring and interpreting evolving requirements from national regulatory agencies and from state, local, and international authorities, and coordinating our response to them.Our strategy for engagement with standards development organizations, including the American Society for Testing and Materials (ASTM), the American National Standards Institute (ANSI), and the International Organization for Standardization (ISO).Our participation in those organizations, including the committees you sit on directly and the engagement of colleagues across the organization whose technical input the work requires.Consensus standards and guidance that improve and close identified gaps in crisis response capacity, including stockpiling, general public applications, and crisis-ready respiratory protection.Our relationships with product certification authorities, including identifying areas for collaboration on pandemic response and on certification pathways for crisis-ready equipment.The regulatory input into our applied research, product development, and procurement decisions.Our external positioning on respiratory protection policy, including written submissions, public comment, and representation of our technical position to regulators and policymakers.The growth of this area of work, including shaping the structure and hiring of a small team as its scope expands. Who You Are Must have A deep working knowledge of occupational health and safety standards, regulation, guidance, and policy in the United States, and a working understanding of how these differ in other jurisdictions.Substantial hands-on experience in respiratory protection (or PPE ), whether through guidance, training, testing, program administration, manufacturing, or otherwise.Experience shaping the content of a consensus standard, regulation, or official guidance document.An established network across the standards bodies, certification authorities, and regulatory agencies relevant to respiratory protection.Experience explaining complex technical and regulatory material clearly to audiences ranging from specialist committees to policymakers with no technical background.You demonstrate Hadrian’s values, described on the Careers page of the website Nice to have Experience with respirator certification pathways in jurisdictions outside the United States.Experience in respirator manufacturing, testing, or product development and / or experience administering respiratory protection programs.You have built or managed a small team.Master’s degree or higher in industrial hygiene, occupational health, environmental health sciences, public health, or a related scientific or engineering discipline. Your Salary and Benefits The expected base salary range for this position is $175,000 to $225,000 per year. Actual base pay will be determined based on factors such as relevant experience, education, skills, and geographic location. In addition to base pay, this role is eligible for a comprehensive benefits package including medical, dental, and vision insurance, a 401(k) plan with company match and flexible PTO.
