Regulatory Counsel, Content and Consumer Protection

Responsibilities
- Interpret laws and other compliance obligations into requirements for Compliance, Business, Product, and Engineering teams.
- Provide legal advice on compliance programs and policies to help mitigate risk.
- Manage government and regulator discussions, negotiations, and disclosures on compliance readiness efforts.
Requirements
Minimum qualifications: JD, LL.B., equivalent degree, or equivalent practical experience. Admitted to the bar and in good standing or otherwise authorized to practice law (e.g., have registered in-house status) in the state in which the position is located. 7 years of attorney-level experience in government, in-house, or at a law firm. 7 years of experience with legal, regulatory, or corporate compliance, including addressing, minimizing, and avoiding regulatory risk.
Preferred qualifications
- Experience in engaging with regulators, including State attorneys general, Federal Trade Commission, Department of Justice, and global digital media, content, or consumer protection authorities.
- Experience with laws/regulations governing content moderation, secondary/intermediary liability, notice-and-takedown procedures, consumer protection, or related areas of law, including advising on section 230, free speech protections, the Communications Decency Act, Digital Millennium Copyright Act, EU Digital Services Act, UK and Australia Online Safety Acts, and online child protection laws.
- Experience advising on laws/regulations governing AI models and systems, like the EU AI Act, US state legislation, executive orders and related global legislation.

Pay
US: $252000 - $352000 (USD) + 25% bonus target + equity + benefits
