Regulatory Counsel, Americas
About the role
For our client, we are seeking a Regulatory Counsel, Americas to join the team of a leader in the Finance & Insurance space. This role will provide practical legal and regulatory guidance across the Americas, with a strong focus on payments, money transmission, and financial services compliance. You will partner closely with cross-functional teams to support market expansion, licensing efforts, and the launch of product features in a complex and evolving regulatory environment. The position also involves monitoring regulatory developments, assessing risk, and helping the business navigate multi-jurisdictional requirements with clarity and confidence.
Responsibilities
- Support regulatory legal matters across the Americas
- Research and summarize developments in payments regulation and their impacts
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams on regulatory inquiries
- Assist with market entry, licensing, and product feature regulations
- Analyze payment structures for compliance with licensing regulations
- Deliver clear legal guidance and risk assessments to stakeholders
- Manage external legal counsel and regulatory filings
Qualifications
- Qualified lawyer with 5+ years of relevant experience
- Experience in regulatory, financial services, or fintech environments
- Knowledge of payments, money transmission, or digital financial services
- Understanding of US financial regulatory frameworks and licensing requirements
- Strong research and communication skills for legal topics to non-lawyers
- Proactive and organized with strong stakeholder management skills
- Experience supporting money transmitter licensing or regulatory compliance

Location: Remote - US based candidates only, no visa sponsorship available
Compensation: $120,000 – $145,000 annually
