Counsel, Americas - Regulatory & International Legal

Responsibilities

• Evaluate and advise on existing, pending, and developing regulations in the Americas, with a focus on online safety, AI, and consumer laws;
• Develop and implement compliance strategies;
• Identify and educate colleagues on new legislative and regulatory trends affecting Roblox in the region;
• Respond to requests for advice from cross-functional teams as needed;
• Support regulatory engagement activities.

Requirements

• 5-7 years of relevant legal experience;
• Licenses to practice law in a US jurisdiction;
• Experience working with or for a company or companies in the social media, content, or gaming space;
• Experience tracking and analyzing state and federal legislative proposals;
• Experience dealing with online safety, consumer, or other relevant regulators;
• Knowledge of, or interest in, the regulatory landscape in the Americas (including but not limited to the US).

• Strong critical judgment and analytical skills with the ability to propose solutions and translate legal analysis into practical advice;
• Excellent organizational and prioritization skills;
• The ability to work independently and effectively in a remote environment;
• The ability to handle a diverse and complex workload;
• The ability to work collaboratively within a small, tightly-knit team.

Pay

The starting base pay for this position is as shown below. The actual base pay is dependent upon a variety of job-related factors such as professional background, training, work experience, location, business needs and market demand. Therefore, in some circumstances, the actual salary could fall outside of this expected range. This pay range is subject to change and may be modified in the future. All full-time employees are also eligible for equity compensation and for benefits as described on this page.

Schedule

Roles that are based in an office are onsite Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday, with optional presence on Monday and Friday (unless otherwise noted).
