About the role
AMERISAFE is seeking a detail-oriented, productivity-driven professional to join our “Excellence Team” in DeRidder, LA. The Regulatory Assistant will assist and support all roles in the Regulatory Department, reporting directly to the Regulatory Supervisor.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate Error & Omission compliance of contracted agents/agencies
- Request errors and omissions certificates; update CRM agent errors and omissions fields, and DMS the record with the appropriate agency
- Review and distribute incoming circulars and bulletins with assistance from the Legal Department
- Notify regulatory officials of contact person changes for various departmental positions
- Administer regulatory bureau access for employees across departments
- Provide general clerical support services to enhance the operation of the Regulatory Department
- Serve as a back-up and cross-train with Licensing Coordinator in the licensing process for agents and employees
- Cross-train as back-up for processing default base commission rate changes in Nexus
- Process license renewals for AGAI and certain licensed employees, and file all related correspondence in AGAI’s and the employees’ files
- Assist with appointing licensed FL claim adjusters as needed and process the registration of GA Staff Adjusters annually
- Assist and support Regulatory departmental areas in maintaining compliance as needed
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED required
- Strong computer skills required
- Strong organizational planning and prioritization skills
- Ability to communicate effectively with employees at all levels of the company
- Attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to work independently in carrying out assignments to completion
- Ability to work well as part of a team
- Ability to maintain confidentiality
- Ability to think through problems and explore solutions to streamline processes for efficiency

Pre-employment screening
Upon an offer and acceptance of employment, you will be required to complete pre-employment screening, which includes:
- A criminal background check
- A 10-panel drug test (amphetamine/methamphetamine, barbiturates, benzodiazepines, cocaine metabolite (BZE), marijuana metabolite (THCA), methadone, methaqualone, codeine/morphine, phencyclidine, propoxyphene)
- A review of your motor vehicle report, if applicable
