Elevate Academy is a co-ed, residential treatment program for adolescents, specializing in trauma, mood disorders, adoption and attachment issues, and similar diagnoses. Students have faced adverse experiences that have negatively impacted their physical, emotional, and social wellbeing. We strive to build students' confidence and resiliency, empowering them to take charge of a thriving future.

About the role

As a Regulation Life Coach at Elevate Academy, you'll work with a diverse group of teenagers, helping them discover their passions and reach their full potential. You'll engage one-on-one, in small groups, and side-by-side in activities to develop life skills, set and achieve goals, and build confidence and resilience. The primary responsibility is to effectively handle and de-escalate crisis situations, ensuring the safety and well-being of individuals involved.

Responsibilities

  • Develop close, personal, and emotionally supportive relationships with students to coach them in their treatment progression.
  • Implement clinical treatment plans as outlined by the Treatment Team.
  • Ensure a healthy, comfortable, safe, and caregiving environment is maintained.
  • Participate in a wide variety of activities with students (e.g., sports, bike riding, skiing, rock climbing, hiking, swimming) and encourage skill development.
  • Use mediation and intervention techniques to redirect students during escalated moments.
  • Respond promptly to crisis situations and disturbances in a calm and controlled manner, assessing situations to determine appropriate de-escalation techniques.
  • Communicate effectively with individuals in crisis using active listening and empathy to build rapport.
  • Transport students to and from off-campus appointments and activities using company vehicles.

Requirements

  • Must be at least 20 years of age or older.
  • Physical ability to provide interventions, such as safety holds.
  • Valid Driver’s License with no more than one traffic violation in the past three years to transport students using company vehicles.
  • Proficiency and fluency in speaking, understanding, reading, and writing English.

Qualifications

  • Demonstrated ability to successfully coach and mentor adolescents.
  • Assertiveness to learn and continually enhance knowledge of neurodiversity and mental health.
  • Good energy and ability to work in all weather conditions.
  • Engaging and empathetic character with a balance of tenacity and determination.
  • Strong problem-solving, decisiveness, and teamwork skills.
  • Proficient communication and interpersonal relationship skills.
  • Physical fitness and stamina to respond to physically demanding situations.

Pay

$16/hour with potential pay increases every three months.

Schedule

  • Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday: 7am – 3pm
  • One Sunday per month: 8am – 10pm
