About the Role
Perform computer and customer service related duties in an office setting. Students will assist department faculty and staff with a variety of duties, including but not limited to:
- Taking accurate messages
- Operating office equipment
- Assisting visitors to the department
- Assisting with clerical tasks (typing, filing, answering telephones, scheduling appointments)
- Running assigned errands on campus
- Cleaning classrooms
- Organizing and taking inventory of office supplies
- Microsoft Office experience
Schedule
15-20 hours per week, Monday-Friday, between 8am-5pm.
Enrollment Requirements
- Fall/Spring Semesters: All student employees must be enrolled at least half-time:
- Undergraduates: 6 credit hours
- Graduates: 5 credit hours
- Undergraduates: 12 credit hours
- Graduates: 9 credit hours
- Summer Semester: To work in a regular student position, students must be enrolled in at least 3 summer credit hours or be enrolled in the upcoming fall semester in the minimum credit hours required for their classification. Students enrolled in fewer than 3 summer credit hours will be subject to FICA taxes.
- Federal Work Study Program (FWSP): Students must be enrolled in at least 6 credit hours (undergraduate) or 5 credit hours (graduate).
- Enrollment Exception: If the number of credit hours needed to graduate is less than the minimum required, the student must obtain a letter from their Academic Advisor (stating hours needed and anticipated graduation date) and submit it to Human Resources.
New incoming students are not eligible for student employment until the semester in which they begin classes.
