Position Summary
To support the various departments under the Patient Access Center (Inpatient, Outpatient, Same Day Services, Wound Care, Infusion, Labor & Delivery and Emergency Department by providing a variety of tasks such as reception, pre-registration, registration, cash collection, admitting, patient/department support, materials/inventory management, patient education, and unit specific tasks.
About the Role
Education High school diploma or equivalent. Associate's degree preferred. Completion of formal business/medical training preferred. Completion of Registration training program required. Certified Healthcare Access Associate (CHAA) certification preferred.
Responsibilities
- Supports various departments under the Patient Access Center by providing a variety of tasks such as reception, pre-registration, registration, cash collection, admitting, patient/department support, materials/inventory management, patient education, and unit specific tasks.
- Works with co-workers and other staff members to provide effective communication and interpersonal skills.
- Manages medical office experience, medical terminology, and previous customer service experience.
- Uses effective critical thinking skills, attention to details, and ability to prioritize tasks.
- Uses effective communication and writing skills, proper spelling and grammar, and typing/keyboarding (50 - 60 wpm).
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Completion of formal business/medical training preferred.
- Completion of Registration training program required.
- Certified Healthcare Access Associate (CHAA) certification preferred.
- Healthcare related experience.
- Computer experience and knowledge of windows environment.
- Previous customer service experience required.
- Medical office experience required.
- Medical terminology preferred.

- Effective interpersonal skills to work with co-workers and other staff members.
- Effective critical thinking skills, i.e., analytical, problem-solving, decision making, prioritizing, time management, etc.

- Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English.
- Typing/Keyboarding 50 - 60 wpm at a minimum.
