Registrar, Norton Cancer Institute - St. Matthews Clinic, Days

Responsibilities

• Performs registration in computerized systems.
• Performs pre-registration, enters date-of-service upon patient arrival and arrives patient in EMR.
• Obtains current demographic and insurance information at each patient encounter, verifies information is correctly entered into all systems.
• Obtains payment from patients per Norton Healthcare collection policy.
• Sends missed appointment letter to patients.
• Has knowledge of insurance carriers.
• Schedules patient appointments in electronic scheduling system.
• Schedules diagnostic tests and consults.
• Secures precerts/authorizations for diagnostic tests and admissions/transfers.
• Answers in-coming telephone calls, prioritizes and routes appropriately.
• Takes complete telephone messages, prioritizes and routes appropriately.
• Provides callers with exceptional customer service with telephone interactions.
• Captures and files appropriate correspondence.
• Aids in chart preparation.
