About the role

Registrar acts as the initial contact for patients presenting to Bay Area Hospital. Performs registration functions, including updating demographics, verifying insurance coverage, obtaining consent signatures, discussing financial arrangements and collecting payments from patients. The role supports the hospital’s mission, vision and values by adhering to behavioral standards, complying with laws and regulations, and maintaining effective communication with diverse individuals.

Responsibilities

• Perform quick registration, discharge, and back‑house functions based on emergency department workflow
• Ensure accurate patient identification by searching the hospital system per department standards to support patient safety and prevent duplicate records
• Register trauma and code patients according to hospital and departmental policies
• Register and/or pre‑admit patients, update status, collect necessary signatures and information; provide notice of non‑coverage/waivers and consents
