Responsibilities
- Support of donors to inspire wonder through the power of art
- Build meaningful relationships with high-profile, high-capacity donors
- Identify and cultivate donors for unrestricted annual giving, special project donations, and planned gifts
- Guide donors from initial conversations to closed gifts
- Manage and grow a portfolio of 75-100+ major donors and prospects ($2,500+)
- Create and manage schedules for PK-12 programs during the school year and summer programs for summer schools
- Create supply lists, ensure materials are ordered and prepared for programs
- Serve as day-of coordinator at programs and assist with studio and in-gallery program setup
- Order materials and refreshments for educator events
- Create and manage email lists of administrative leads, curriculum coordinators, and teachers by district and grade level, as well as lists of university/college instructors by disciplines
- Request translation services for program and learning resources
- Process contracts, bus reimbursements, and payments
- Create invitations for educator events and manage registrations
- Set up interview schedules for casual/program-specific hiring
- Support recruiting and training of volunteers
- Make website updates for the Learning and Volunteers teams
- Track Learning programs statistics
- Support the Volunteers team with administrative tasks
- Collaborate with department coordinators to streamline program processes
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree or higher or equivalent experience
- Minimum of three years’ experience in individual fundraising, or in the legal, financial, or a related field, with direct experience in cultivation and solicitation of individuals, preferably in an arts environment
- Superior oral and written communication skills, exceptional people skills, strong initiative and self-motivation, and superior judgment and discretion
- Able to work comfortably and professionally with a diverse group of people including but not limited to: donors, foundations, advisors, Trustees, individual prospects and volunteers
- Able to serve as a representative of Mia to the public and represent the museum’s mission with enthusiasm and professionalism
- Able to work an occasional night or weekend day (for an event)
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree, preferably in visual arts-related field or equivalent experience
- Required: Minimum of one year experience with program coordination
- Experience supporting a team
- Excellent communication and customer service skills, methodical, detail-oriented, well-organized
- Experience utilizing multiple types of office and scheduling software - Google Office Suite, Microsoft Office Suite, Project Management software (Asana), Scheduling software, CRM software (Salesforce)
- Excellent organizational and time management skills
- Ability to provide administrative support utilizing high-functioning multi-tasking capabilities as well as work initiative, problem solving, accuracy, follow-up and follow-through
- Preferred: Two to three years of related experience, especially with schools and volunteers
- Experience engaging with students, families, the public, volunteers, and/or visitors in a customer service, educational, or community-facing environment
- Knowledge of some art history is helpful
- Experience with scheduling and volunteer software desired

$80,000 - $85,000, depending on qualifications
