The posted compensation range of $18.00 - $22.19 /hour is a reasonable estimate that extends from the lowest to the highest pay CommonSpirit in good faith believes it might pay for this particular job, based on the circumstances at the time of posting. CommonSpirit may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range as permitted by law.
Job Requirements
- High School graduate or GED
- Previous experience in a clerical setting
- Typing speed 30 wpm
- Excellent written and interpersonal communication skills
- Computer skills
Preferred
- Minimum of one (1) year experience in prior authorization, precertification, insurance benefits and how they apply to hospital registration or medical office setting.
- Medical terminology
- Previous experience with an EMR; Cerner
- American Heart Association BLS certification
Responsibilities
- Registers/pre-registers patient in a timely manner, as evidenced by minimal to no patient waiting and minimal registration time.
- Obtains accurate and complete patient information for the registration process.
- Completes medical record requests within department guidelines.
- Provides adequate notes in computer system by documenting all payer related information, patient issues, physician office communications and any account related communication.
- Surety that patient handouts are being given out and explained (i.e.: Patient Rights and Responsibilities, Advance Directives, Financial Assistance, etc.)
