Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT)

About the role

Westside Animal Hospital is seeking a full time Veterinary Technician to join our expanding hospital team. Experience is ideal, but not required for this position, as we can also train on the job. We are seeking a team oriented person to work in a collaborative environment in a growing hospital. We have excellent clientele, skilled and experienced DVMs, and a great location in Fort Wayne. We are growing fast and looking to add another excellent team member to our support staff team.

Responsibilities

• Assist veterinarians during examinations and treatments
• Administer medications and injections
• Perform diagnostic tests and collect samples
• Care for hospitalized patients
• Prepare treatment rooms and equipment
• Handle administrative tasks such as charting and billing

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Current certification as a Veterinary Technician (VTS) or ability to obtain within one year
• Strong communication and customer service skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Basic computer skills

Qualifications

• Experience in veterinary settings preferred, but not required
• Positive attitude and willingness to learn
• Passion for animal care and veterinary medicine

Skills

• Proficient in using electronic medical records systems
• Good organizational and time management skills
• Ability to handle stressful situations calmly and effectively
