Registered Veterinary Technician - Dentistry

About the role

Bay Animal Hospital is seeking an experienced Registered Veterinary Technician with a strong passion and advanced skill set in veterinary dentistry to join our team!

Responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive dental procedures, including prophylaxis, full-mouth dental radiographs, charting, and assisting with advanced dental treatments and extractions.
• Monitor anesthesia and provide exceptional patient care throughout dental and surgical procedures.
• Accurately document dental findings and contribute to treatment planning and case management.
• Educate clients on dental disease, treatment recommendations, home care, and discharge instructions.
• Work alongside the medical team on the hospital floor, assisting with appointments, treatments, surgery, laboratory work, radiology, and inpatient care as needed.
• Collaborate with the entire team to provide exceptional care across all areas of the hospital.

Requirements

This Role Is Ideal For An experienced RVT who has a strong background in veterinary dentistry but also enjoys the fast pace and variety of general practice. We're looking for someone who is confident leading dental procedures, passionate about improving patient oral health, and excited to be a valued member of the technician team both in dentistry and on the hospital floor.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of veterinary technician experience
• Active and good-standing Registered Veterinary Technician in the state of California
• Proficiency in the following skills: Anesthesia induction and monitoring, COHATs, Advanced Dentistry Techniques

Skills

• Advanced knowledge of veterinary dentistry
• Strong leadership and technical skills
• Excellent communication and client education abilities

Pay

Compensation: $30-$50 per hour, for each hour worked
Bonus package: $2000
CE allowance: up to $1,000 annually based on tenure

Schedule

This is a full-time position with a 4/10 schedule. Availability is needed Monday through Friday, with occasional weekend coverage as needed.
