Registered Veterinary Technician

About the role

VCA All Pet Emergency Center is seeking a Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT-eligible) to join our team providing after-hours emergency and critical care services in Evansville, IN. The schedule is full-time, Wednesday through Sunday.

Responsibilities

• Create and maintain a positive, low-stress atmosphere for patients and clients
• Client education and communication
• Triaging patients
• Venipuncture
• Catheter placement
• Radiology
• Anesthesia monitoring
• Physical examinations and patient assessment
• Surgical preparation and assisting
• Laboratory work
• Pharmacy
• Patient recovery
• Compassionate patient care

Requirements

• $16.00 - $25.00 / hr, based on skill set, experience, and licensure status
• Overnight and weekend differentials offered

Qualifications

• Current RVT license or eligible for RVT licensure
• Experience in emergency medicine preferred
• Strong communication and customer service skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Skills

• Excellent communication skills
• Proficiency in electronic medical records systems
• Knowledge of anesthesia and surgical techniques
