Registered Veterinary Technician

About the role

VCA Apex Animal Hospital is hiring a full-time Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT eligible) to join their team at their AAHA-accredited practice. The practice offers primary care, surgery, dentistry, and more, with hours from Monday to Friday 7:30 AM - 5 PM, Saturday 8 AM - 2 PM, and closed on Sundays. Located conveniently near US 1 and Hwy 540, the practice shares a building with a large animal hospital, which can add an interesting dynamic to the daily routine.

Responsibilities

• Physical examinations and patient assessment
• Anesthesia monitoring
• Surgical preparation and assisting
• Dentistry
• Radiology
• Laboratory work
• Venipuncture
• Catheter placement
• Pharmacy
• Patient recovery
• Compassionate care of hospitalized animals

Requirements

• One year of experience in veterinary medicine
• Proficiency in the skills listed above

Qualifications

• Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT) license or eligible
• Experience in veterinary medicine preferred
• Strong communication and teamwork skills

Skills

• Excellent physical examination and patient assessment skills
• Proven experience with anesthesia monitoring
• Skilled in surgical preparation and assisting
• Knowledgeable in dental procedures
• Proficient in radiology techniques
• Ability to perform laboratory work accurately
