The Credentialed Veterinary Technician performs a critical role in delivering high-quality care for patients and is a key partner to veterinarians, ensuring seamless client interactions and successful procedures. Both full-time and part-time opportunities are available.

Responsibilities

  • Assist veterinarians in the practice of veterinary medicine and surgery, including outpatient exams, taking histories, vital signs, weights, and providing client education.
  • Prepare patients for surgery and monitor their vital signs during procedures.
  • Obtain blood, stool, and other samples; perform in-hospital laboratory testing and prepare specimens for outside laboratories.
  • Take, develop, and maintain radiographs following proper safety procedures.
  • Provide basic animal handling and restraint during exams.
  • Administer and monitor medications, anesthesia, vaccines, and treatments as directed by the veterinarian.
  • Clean and straighten exam rooms, treatment, and lab areas; restock supplies and maintain medical equipment.
  • Assist in keeping public areas of the practice clean.
  • Demonstrate warmth, courtesy, and professionalism in all client interactions; exercise compassion and care with patients.
  • Communicate effectively with veterinarians and team members regarding client discussions, patient plans, and concerns.
  • Perform any other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • State license to work as a certified, licensed, or registered veterinary technician in the state of employment.
  • Ability to lift patients and carry equipment up to 25 pounds; ability to lift over 25 pounds with assistance.
  • Practice OSHA safety techniques, including proper use of PPE.
  • Basic computer skills and familiarity with MS Office applications.
  • Basic math skills and ability to calculate medication dosages accurately.
  • Strong communication skills to ensure patient safety.

Pay

USD $18.00 - USD $20.00 per hour.
