About the role
Village Veterinary Hospital in Bosque Farms, New Mexico is seeking a Registered Veterinary Technician to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have 3+ years of veterinary clinical experience, a strong background in animal care, and a passion for working with both large and small animals.
Responsibilities
- Perform nursing care in a hospital or ranch setting
- Handle and restrain various species of animals
- Provide dental procedures including scaling, polishing, extractions, and suturing
- Administer anesthesia and monitor patients during surgery
- Perform IV catheterization, urinary catheterization, and apply casts, bandages, and splints
- Conduct diagnostic tests such as digital radiology, dental radiology, and ultrasound-guided procedures
- Assist with laboratory tasks including cytology setup and interpretation
- Manage laboratory samples and interpret results
- Support surgical procedures and post-operative care
- Communicate effectively with clients and other team members
- Adhere to all legal requirements and regulations
Requirements
- Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT) in New Mexico, or eligible to acquire state license within 3 months of hire
- Degree from an AVMA-accredited Veterinary Technology program preferred but not required
- Knowledge of industry tools and equipment
- Strong understanding of animal behavior and healthcare
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
- Experience with anesthesia monitoring and surgical procedures
- Laboratory skills including cytology set-up and interpretation
- Diagnostic experience including digital radiology, dental radiology, and ultrasound-guided procedures
Qualifications
- Current RVT certification in New Mexico
- At least 3 years of veterinary clinical experience
- AVMA-accredited Veterinary Technology degree preferred
- Knowledge of industry tools and equipment
- Experience with animal restraint and handling
- Understanding of animal behavior and healthcare
- Effective communication and organizational skills
- Experience with anesthesia monitoring and surgical procedures
- Laboratory skills including cytology set-up and interpretation
- Diagnostic experience including digital radiology, dental radiology, and ultrasound-guided procedures
Skills
- Proven experience in veterinary technology

Benefits
