Registered Sleep Lab Tech (PRN, As Needed)

About the role

A registered sleep lab tech is needed on a PRN basis at Perry County Memorial Hospital. The ideal candidate should have graduated from an accredited school of respiratory services and completed a sleep lab training program. Certification by the Board of Registered Polysomnographic Technologists is required, and certification must be obtained within one year of hire. A current BLS certification is also necessary.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and record patient data accurately during sleep studies.
• Ensure compliance with physician’s orders and hospital policies.
• Assist patients in positioning and attaching them to necessary equipment.
• Provide emotional support to patients and their families.
• Document findings and communicate with healthcare providers as needed.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Successful completion of a sleep lab training program.
• Certification by the Board of Registered Polysomnographic Technologists.
• Current BLS certification.

Qualifications

• Experience in a clinical setting is preferred but not required.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and under pressure.
• Physical stamina to stand, walk, kneel, crouch, bend, and assist patients.
