Registered Respiratory Therapist PRN Mixed Shifts

Responsibilities

• Provide general and emergency respiratory therapy procedures to patients as directed by physicians and protocols.
• Perform respiratory assessment, airway and ventilator management, bi-level non-invasive ventilation management, pulmonary diagnostics, delivery of medicated aerosols, bronchial hygiene therapy, lung expansion therapy, intubation, CPR, bronchoscopy assistance, arterial line placement, arterial sampling, and ABG analysis and interpretation.
• Assess changes in the patient’s clinical condition, make independent judgments, and modify care as necessary according to departmental policies and approved physician protocols.
• Routinely make rounds with physicians in critical care units.
• Act as a preceptor, supporting and contributing to the development of new and existing staff members.
• Ensure accuracy of documenting services and supplies provided to patients (revenue management).
• Perform arterial line insertions, ABG sticks, conduct ABG analysis and interpret results.
• Complete all mandatory training requirements on time.
• Assist the department manager with Performance Improvement projects and other duties as needed.

Requirements

• License to practice respiratory care in the state where services are performed (Idaho or Oregon).
