Registered Respiratory Therapist (Per Diem)

Responsibilities

• Aids in the diagnosis, treatment, and management of pulmonary disorders.
• Performs cardiopulmonary evaluations, respiratory therapy treatments, and patient education.
• Administers and monitors medical gases, mechanical ventilation, artificial airway care, and bronchopulmonary hygiene.
• Monitors and changes ventilators and ventilator circuits according to infection control protocols.
• Participates in managing patients on life support systems and performs emergency and trauma codes.
• Supervises Certified Respiratory Care Technicians and ensures clinical compliance.
• Lifts, pushes/pulls, and stands for a minimum of 6 hours per day.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an AMA-approved Respiratory Care program.
• Associate degree.
• Comprehensive knowledge of clinical aspects of Respiratory Care.
• NJ Respiratory Care Practitioner License.
• NJ Registered Respiratory Therapist Certificate.
• AHA Basic Health Care Life Support HCP Certification.
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support Certification (preferred).
• Neonatal Resuscitation Program (preferred).
• Pediatric Advanced Life Support Certification (preferred).
